PROJECT 1: MADE TO ORDER
For this project, I was given Tea as the beverage instead of coffee by the lecturer. For the type of material, I decided to chose metal. After lots of research, I decided to do layer tea and chose kuih talam as my desert because the layering design.
My first board design attempt. Here the design of the window display is showing spiral. I change from this design because it doesn't makes any related to my layer tea and kuih talam because of them showing any spiral design element.

Choosing layer tea and kuih talam as my chosen desert and beverage gives me an idea on the design approach since both of them have the same characteristic which is both of them shows a layering design. I have to think a way to combined this design element with the material I have chosen which is metal because I also have to include the characteristic of a metal which is, they are malleable that can be hammered or pressed into shape without breaking or cracking.
So, I decided to show three separated of layer of metal wire while shape the metal to a wavy design. My first attempt was poor because I use metal mesh that I thought will the most suitable turns out to be hardest to work with because the wire mesh that I bought is really hard to make it maintain its shape. On my next model, I decided to use metal wire instead with two different colours.
