FINAL PROJECT: ARTIST IN RESIDENT
In this project, students are required to design and build the interior from given site from the lecturer which is the Jao Tim which is located in downtown of Kuala Lumpur. Design conceptual is requisite to inherit from Project 02: Forgotten Culture as approach and subject matter. The forgotten culture that I decided to do is the Peking Opera which is a chinese opera originated from China. A popular type of entertainment in the past but interest in the entertainment started to decline by the mid 20th Century with the existence of more entertaining entertainment. The culture is in risk of being forgotten by the young generation. I decided to focus on the face painting and make up of the actors playing the opera since I think that having a painting and makeup class can spark some interest in people today to give this culture a chance to shine again.

In conclusion, I’ve learnt and improved a lot of doing this project. I manage to improve my skill in using 3d modelling software which requires a lot of time to master and learnt something like new feature that I never knew before from the lecturer and also help me to expand my creativity thinking skill by designing an interior space. When I’m designing the space using 3D model software SketchUp, I faced multiple of problems like the program stop working and lagging which really affected my performance to finish it. In the end, I manage to finish it but really affected outcome of my presentation board which I’m really not satisfied with it though I was given a chance to make another board. During the presentation, I noticed I became more confident of my self when I explain about my space to the guest. In the end, I had good and bad experience which will really help to improve myself in the future.
